Prize for the most creative school in writing
We want to give schools in Rhineland-Palatinate an incentive to win the title of
"most literary and creative school in Rhineland-Palatinate".
The DLV will award its own prize for this.
The next call for entries for the prize is expected at the end of August 2026. We would be delighted if you could encourage your pupils to take part (again). For the first time, the prize is worth €500 (previously €200) and includes a small writing workshop or reading for pupils, free of charge for the school.
The latter will be financed by the Friedrich Bödecker Circle.
The award is based on the following scoring system:
Each school that submits at least five texts (i.e. by five student authors) receives 2.5 points.
The winner of the Susanne Faschon Award receives 3 points.
The runner-up will receive 2.5 points,
and the third-place winner will receive 2 points.
Each pupil who manages to become one of the other prize winners (4th to 13th place), whom we call "readers", i.e. those who present their texts publicly to the audience, will receive 1 point.
The school that organises a writing workshop between the 2026 summer holidays and the deadline for participants to submit their entries to the DLT will receive 2.5 points. It does not matter whether the school organised this itself or contacted us. We consider a "creative writing" club to be equivalent to a writing workshop.
If schools achieve the same score, the prize money will be shared. However, everyone will be able to enjoy the writing workshop/reading.

The award was originally aimed at schools in the Palatinate and Rheinhessen regions. Since 2021, schools from all over Rhineland-Palatinate have been eligible to participate. In recent years, the award has gone to:
