Susanne-Faschon-Preis
We are very happy and proud to name the first prize after Susanne Faschon, who passed away in 1995 at the age of 70. This was done in consultation with her sister Ingeborg Michno and through the mediation of Margita Schreier from Kirchheimbolanden. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to both of them. Ms Faschon (1925-1995) is the great poet of our district and it is an honour for us to be able to help keep her memory alive by using her name.

The Susanne Faschon Prize is awarded every two years as part of the Donnersberg Literature Days. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, the prize money has increased each time.

Susanne Faschon, who was born in Kaiserslautern in 1925, spent the last years of her life in Jakobsweiler on the Donnersberg. She is remembered by many here in the district for her sensual and soulful dialect poems, her "Pälzer Sprich zum Sunndag" in the "Sonntag aktuell" newspaper, and her numerous stories and radio plays.
